Question of the Spring/Summer: Why does Arizona not have Daylight Saving Time?
When Congress passed the Uniform Time Act in 1966, Arizona tried observing daylight savings for a year and decided to not observe it after
much negative reaction. They have never observed daylight savings since.

Think about it: if you were in the desert, the last thing you would want is extra daylight. Because of the hot climate, adding an extra hour of
daylight would cause more of an energy crunch with AC working longer and harder.

During daylight saving time (spring through fall),
Arizona is on Pacific time. All other months of the year they observe Mountain time. The only
exception in Arizona is the Navajo Nation, in northeastern Arizona, which does observe Daylight Saving Time.

ATV/Quad/Jeep Trail Update

If you are a resident of Arizona as of January 1st, 2009 you must have an OHV (Off Highway Vehicle) decal on your Jeep/ATV to travel on the
State Trust or BLM. They are available online @
http://servicearizona.com.

Now, if you are visiting Arizona from out of state for less than 30 days you do not need an OHV decal for your license plate. You do need to have
proof of out of state registration.

We have access to 70,000 acres of wilderness at our back door.  Here is a link to get the lay of the land.  We remind you that these trails are very
rugged and accidents can happen.  So we suggest you use caution while you are out there.
